I had a block of raw cacao butter on my kitchen counter for the past two months and I said what lets do something with it. At first I thought that I was going to make chocolate bars then I changed my mind and busted out with chocolate hearts instead.
I love them they kind of remind me of a Hersheys kiss hence the name. the combination of chocolate paste and raw cacao butter really made them creamy . I have no recipe to share because sometimes I just like to play in the kitchen.:(

I grew up eating this extremely sweet fruit it taste sooooo good, kind of like candy. They grow abundantly in the Caribbean, and we were lucky enough to have a tree in our front yard so I have no idea how much they cost ( lucky me )
Name: Sugar apple or Custard Apple
How To Eat : When ripe you can enjoy this sugary treat by breaking it open and placing the segments into your mouth separating the flesh and seeds. Trust me it is so worth it. Also you can press the the flesh and seeds through a mesh and add the juice to nut milks or ice creams ;the surgary flavor doesn't dissopoint.

Susan and Grace
I have a cute story to tell, my uncle was a young man and he was sitting at the dinner table waiting for his mother my grandmother to fix his meal. As soon as she put it down in front of him he said breadfruit ! breadfruit! breadfruit ! soon from now we are going to be growing suckers meaning sprouting up small breadfruit plants out of his head.
So in light of going crazy from ingesting the same fruits all the time I am introducing Pepino's. Pepino's are a unique brand of fruit, they taste like a cross between a cucumber and a melon.
They can be utilized in raw puddings, fruit salads and eaten as an appetizer.

Breadfruit is part of the mulberry family, and are closely related to jack fruit; one tree can produce an upwards amount of 200 breadfruits.
Breadfruit is kind of like an avocado, although technically a fruit we utilize it as a vegetable. In the Caribbean breadfruit is a staple food item,it is peeled and sliced then boiled, fried,or roasted kind of like a potato.
The name bread fruit really describes this fruit because when boiled it does have a bread like consistency and it's natural color is white. Use it implace of bread, potatoes or any other starchy food.

Turmeric can be added to many dishes like tofu, mustard and pastries to give them a beautiful yellow color. I made this juice because I was craving it, I guess my stomach needed a little tune up.
Turmeric root is very powerful and not only works to alleviate many illness it is also a great source of manganese. It took me less than ten minutes to whip up a glass, if your having gastrointestinal issues give it a try before the peptomismol.
Recipe

one Medium nob of turmeric
Run both through the juicer and drink

Whole in shell Almonds The inside of a Caribbean almond.
Photo credit from Coffee and Vanilla
Caribbean almonds were always a special treat for me as a child. Growing up in Barbados meant that we always had an abundance of these green gems when we went to the beach. Caribbean almonds are a real super food because even the leaves of the almond tree can be taken as medicine. The red skin on the inside of these almonds are used to make water resistant canoes. The skin on the Caribbean almonds are also quite soft in comparison to other nuts; which made them even more of a delight to eat. Also the nut itselfs flavor is of a light almond extract and the nut is crunchy, dense and milky. Caribbean almonds are so popular because they are usually found at the sea shore that many island resorts name themselves after them.

Sorrel is made from the sepals of the sorrel flower. The flavor of Sorrel is like a Field full of sweet and tangy berries. In the Caribbean Sorrel is a must have during the Christmas season hence the crimson red color.
However in the U.S. dried sorrel can be purchased year round at some Korean markets. Being that Sorrel can be purchase year round I took the time to pick some up to create this native Caribbean drink.
Enjoying sorrel in the summer months just came natural because it is served cold and is very delicious, it kind of reminded me of when I was an early teen, getting all sweaty playing basketball and coming inside to a cool refreshing glass of red kool aid.
Sorrel is made with fresh or dried orange peel, Cinnamon, and cloves, it is a very fruity island festive drink.
Here is a picture of sorrel growing naturally in nature
Recipe
Soak the Sorrel, orange peel,Cinnamon and cloves in 7 cups of water overnight
Strain, sweeten, refrigerate and serve
